Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi visited Kanya Kumari today, from where he will be flying off the Bharat Jodo March on Wednesday.
Today morning, Wayanad MP attended a prayer gathering at the memorial of his father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
Marking the same, Rahul Gandhi took to his twitter and wrote, “I lost my father to the politics of hate and division. I will not lose my beloved country to it too.”
Rahul Gandhi, began the day by offering tributes to his father and sat in a silent prayer in his memory.
Meanwhile, Rahul along with 100 yatris plan to finish an ambitious 3,570 km padyatra in Srinagar called Bharat Jodo March, by the beginning of February next year.
Reportedly, in Kanyakumari, Rahul Gandhi is said to visit Thiruvalluvar, Vivekananda, and Kamaraj memorials before attending a prayer meeting at the Mahatma Gandhi mandapam. Later, he is said to get a national flag from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin before walking to the seaside venue of the public rally, where the Bharat Jodo March will be formally launched in the presence of top Congress leaders.
