Britain’s long serving monarch Queen Elizabeth-II is no more

The long serving monarch of Britain, Queen Elizabeth-II – aged 96- has breathed her last on Thursday afternoon UK time. According to the tweet by the Royal Family, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.” Queen Elizabeth-II has been the monarch of UK for past 70 years.

Earlier in the day, the Buckingham Palace said that medical team treating the Queen are quite concerned about her health and recommended that she remained under their supervision. Since then, several people waited outside the palace to learn about Queen health update. Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex are expected to travel to Balmoral Castle for Queen’s funeral.

Following queen’s death, her elder son Charles (73) automatically becomes king, though the coronation is unlikely to happen in next few months. Social media sites are inundated with condolence message from several global leaders and renowned celebs.
