West Bengal state is burning currently as there are riots going on in Kolkata city. Bharatiya Janatha Party activists wanted to carry out a protest march to the state secretariat. However, the march has turned violent. During the march, police officers and BJP leaders were severely injured. BJP leaders like Mina Devi Purohit and Swapan Dasgupta were reportedly injured.

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly, Hooghly MP Locket Chatterjee, and senior leader Rahul Sinha, were denied during the march. The BJP leaders are now strongly criticizing the TMC party members.

As the protest turned violent, the police officials used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the agitators. Several agitators have also attacked police officials in many areas.

In Santragachhi, the police were pelted with stones as they chased away the protesters. The areas like Howrah, Kolkata’s Lalbazar, and MG Road areas were filled with violent protesters.

TMC tweeted, “BJP4Bengal karyakartas or hooligans?” and added, “Destroying and damaging government property, attacking police personnel, causing chaos and disrupting peace across the state — today’s activities of BJP that brought shame upon the entire nation. We strongly condemn such outrageous behaviour.”
