Ministry of Railway has shared four pictures of Chenab Bridge on its Twitter handle, captioned ‘A sight of the breathtakingly beautiful Chenab Bridge.’ As soon as the pictures were uploaded, they were subjected to many retweets and went on to become viral over the internet.

Chenab Bridge is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link (USBRL) project. On August 14, the world’s highest rail bridge over the Chenab river in the Kouri area of Reasi district made a record when the overarch deck of the bridge was completed with a golden joint. With a total of 272-km USBRL project, the work on 161 km was commissioned in various phases. The 1,315 meters Chenab Bridge is an engineering monument which has been posed with several challenges. Additionally, the contracts nature of harsh terrain with extreme weather made the work more complicated for the engineers. This bridge holds the record of being the highest railway bridge in the world at 359 meters above the ground. It is actually 35 meters longer than the Eifel tower.

Twitter users were blown away by the photos and complimented the railways for constructing the structure.
