After scoring a decent hit with Sammohanam and V, Tollywood hero Sudheer Babu and director Mohanakrishna Indraganti are back with yet another film Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali. The film has hit the theatres today and let us see how the film is.
Story :
The story revolves around a blockbuster director Naveen (Sudheer Babu). However, after having five back-to-back blockbusters, he faces criticism for his last outing, titled Missile. While writing a script for his next, Naveen discovers a showreel of Alekya (Krithi Shetty). Alekhya is a doctor and hates movies with a passion, as do her parents. Why do Alekhya and her family hate movies? How does Naveen manage to convince Alekhya? forms the crux of the film’s story.
What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:
Director Mohana Krishna Indraganti picked up a set-up similar to one of his past films with Sudheer Babu, that is Sammohanam. However, he had come out with a new story this time around. Without wasting any time, Mohanakrishna gets into the crux of things at the start of the movie. But, later, the film feels boring as a lot of time is wasted in ‘convincing’ the main story.
The story taken by the director turns predictable after a point. It’s just emotions that make you watch a film. But the patchy writing doesn’t elevate the proceedings. The drama never truly engages and leaves one entertained.
Performance of Cast & Crew
Sudheer Babu delivers his great performance as always. He plays a director role, and he carried it with ease. Krithi Shetty got a meaty role in the film, but she fails to knock it out of the park due to uninteresting and tiresome characterization. movie. Vennela Kishore and Rahul Ramakrishna are good in their roles.
Music director Vivek Sagar gave the songs that are just okay. The background score is acceptable. The cinematography by PG Vinda is good, and Marthand K Venkatesh’s editing is decent.
First Half & Second Half:
The movie opens impressively and draws us into the narrative. But after it narration becomes flat, and the subtle humor doesn’t work often. However, pre-interval and interval are something interesting. It makes one curious enough to see what lies in the second half. But the second half starts on a flat note and depresses the audience.
Impressive:
Sudheer Babu Performance
Emotions
Unimpressive:
Simple Plot
Predictability
Music
‘The IBC News’ take:
On the whole, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali has good emotions, but the problem is the flat narration and writing. The film overall fails to leave the desired impact.
One-Line Review:
Good emotions wasted with flat narration.
