Andhra Pradesh Assembly’s monsoon sessions commenced yesterday. There is a lot of excitement created for people and ministers on the ‘Three Capitals’ concept.
AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to clarify his government’s policy on ‘Three Capitals’ and take the same to the AP public to convince them that three capitals would benefit the state’s development.
“A sum of Rs 1,10,000 crore is needed for the development of infrastructure in Amaravati and nearly Rs 3 to Rs 4 lakh crore to establish Amaravati as the full-fledged capital as per the graphic designs. By contrast, Visakhapatnam is a developed city and it can be developed as the executive capital with much less money.” YS Jagans aid in the Assembly, assuring a decentralized development.
It is a known fact that With Amaravati farmers’ Padayatra is becoming an issue and the YSRCP government is under severe pressure. However, as a contradiction with Amaravati farmers, YS Jagan has decided to initiate a discussion right away from day one in the Assembly for implementing three capitals.
Reportedly, Jagan wants a referendum on these three AP capitals, and with the same decision, the YSRCP party will go for the 2024 general elections.
However, another big doubt is whether the YSRCP government will table a fresh ‘Three Capitals’ bill in the current Assembly sessions. From the insiders, it is heard that chances are very less, and CM Jagan wants to clear the myths surrounding the three capitals issue.
