Telangana Chief Minister KCR has inaugurated Banjara and Adivasi buildings today on 17 September 2022 in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The buildings are built with the aim of comprehensive development of tribes of Kumram Bheem Adivasi and Sant Sewalal.
Banjara and Adivasi Bhavans are built at Banjara Hills Road No. 10 as the symbol of their self-respect. The government has spent about Rs. 50 crore funds for the construction of the building. The buildings has an auditorium that can seat a thousand people, dining halls for 250 people, VIP lounges, photography, artworks and paintings. While talking at the inauguration ceremony, KCR said, “Initially, the Banjaras didn’t have a place in Banjara Hills. In our own state, the buildings are built as an honor for the Banjara children and their pride. The Banjara and Adivasi buildings should be like a platform for Adivasi and Banjara’s rights. Banjaras in Maharashtra are in the list of BCs. They should have equivalent reservations in the state. TRS will bring a united approach on this. We will solve the problem of lowlands of tribes very soon”.
Both the buildings are designed to reflect the traditions of 10 tribes like Gond, Koya, Pardan, Thoti, Naikpod and Chenchu.
