Chandigarh University students videos

Students raised massive protests at Chandigarh University in Punjab’s Mohali after a girl allegedly leaked the private videos of her hostel mates online. The police have registered the case and taken the accused into custody.

A large number of students protested against this incident on campus on Saturday night. According to the reports, the accused filmed the videos of her hostel mates and sent them to a man in Himachal Pradesh. He used to publish them online as MMS clips.

Students were shocked when they realized their private videos have surfaced online. Rumors spread on social media, stating that a student attempted suicide after this incident. But the police confirmed that nothing of that sort happened at the University. They requested everyone not to believe in rumours. As the accused is taken into custody, the cops started the investigation.

Meanwhile, Punjab School Education Minister HS Bains appealed to Chandigarh University to remain calm and assured that no one guilty will be spared. I humbly request all the students of Chandigarh University to remain calm, no one guilty will be spared. “It’s a very sensitive matter & relates to dignity of our sisters & daughters. We all, including media, should be very very cautious, it is also a test of ours now as a society,” he tweeted.
