There is a lot of attention on team India ahead of T20 World Cup. After clinching T20 series against Australia, the expectations have sky rocketed. But, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s back injury has turned out to be a major blow for the Indian team. Considering his injury, BCCI has not selected him for remainder of ongoing series against South Africa. He is unlikely to be selected for T20 World Cup as well.
In view of Bumrah’s injury and to avoid any sort of issues if other bowlers get injured, BCCI has selected Hyderabadi fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and Kashmiri fast gun Umran Malik as back up players and net bowlers. After ruling out Bumrah for the remaining matches, Siraj has been picked in final team for T20 series against South Africa.
According to BCCI secretary, Jasprit Bumrah is currently getting treated under the supervision of a medical team at NCA (National Cricket Association). Other fast pacers for World Cup include Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel and Arshadeep Singh.
