After the COVID-19 pandemic, cricket players are forced to stay in bio-bubbles while playing in tournaments. This has been happening for the last two years. But now, things got settled a bit and people have got vaccinated. Thus, regulations are being relaxed in cricket tournaments.
According to the latest reports, there will be no bio-bubble in the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia. This means the players need not stay in the bubble all the time. They can meet people outside the bubble by following the necessary precautions. They will also be allowed to travel outside the bio bubble.
During the last World Cup held in Dubai in 2021, players were forced to stay in the bio bubble. But that will not be the case in this year’s world cup. Bio-bubbles take a toll on players’ mental health. Thus, removing bubbles will be a sign of relief.
T20 World Cup 2022 will be held from October 16 to November 13. A total of 16 teams will be participating in the tournament. Seven cities will be hosting these games. Australia won T20 World Cup 2021. They are aiming to defend the championship this time as well because the tournament is being held at home.
