On the occasion of Dusshera, the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed a huge gathering where he mentioned that India needs to come up with a policy for popular control. Mohan Bhagawat shared an opinion that the policy should control the population “equally applicable to all” and cited “religion-based imbalance” and “forced conversions” to raise the specter of the country breaking apart.
Not just stopping there, Mohan Bhagawat also mentioned that many new countries emerged only because of religious community-based imbalances.
“East Timor, Kosovo, and South Sudan are examples of new countries that emerged because of religious community-based imbalances. The population balance on a religious basis is also a matter of high importance and we must not ignore it,” said Mohan during the annual Dussehra rally of the RSS.
“There is a view that population can be an asset. We need to work on a policy keeping both aspects in mind,” he said, adding, women’s health must be certainly taken into consideration in any policy on childbearing.
On the other hand, the BJP’s central government, however, does not seem to agree with the idea of a population control law. We have to see if there are any major changes coming in the forthcoming days.
