Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is an Indian regional political party which is predominantly active in the state of Telangana. It was founded on 27 April 2001 by K. Chandrashekar Rao. Now, the party is getting renamed as Bharata Rashtra Samithi. When TRS was launched, KCR had a single-point agenda of creating a separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital.
Now that Telangana state is formed, the party leader is now aiming at the national politics. The announcement of the same was made at the party’s crucial General Body meeting that began at Telangana Bhavan at 1.19 pm.

The party executive committee along with elected representatives and other leaders, passed a unanimous resolution to this effect. With this, KCR will now become active in national politics.
In a letter to the National Commission of India, KCR wrote the same.
“Communication of Change in the Name of the Party and Amendment to the Party Constitution,” said the subject of the letter.
“Telangana Rashtra Samithi in its State General Body meeting dated 05.10.2022 has passed a resolution to change the name of the Party from Telangana Rashtra Samithi to BHARAT RASHTRA SAMITHI. To that effect, necessary amendments to the party Constitution have also made in the same meeting. The Resolution and the Amended Party Constitution is submitted. This is for your kind information. Receipt of the same may kindly be acknowledged.” read the letter.
