Shiv Sena is one of the biggest parties in Maharashtra. However, the party is split into two now. While Uddhav Thackeray leads one party, the Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde leads the other one. There exists a power battle in the state where both the leaders are taking potshots at each other.
On the occasion of Dusshera every year, the Shiv Sena conducts a rally at Mumbai’s Shivaji park. This time, it was unclear until the last minute about who will conduct the rally. However, the Supreme court passed a verdict in the favour of Uddhav Thackeray.
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “Ravan will burn.”
However, on the other hand, Maharashtra chief minister Shinde held a parallel rally at the MMRDA grounds. He also gave a potshot saying, “Do you have any moral right to even stand and speak there? You used Shiv Sainiks for your personal reason and went ahead with Congress and NCP. Balasaheb Thackeray used to run the government on the remote control, and you gave this remote control to NCP.”
Uddhav did not take it but gave it back, saying that the people of the state will decide on who actually will lead the Shiv Sena party.
