Pongal 2023 is expected to see a huge clash in Kollywood. As per the latest buzz in the film industry, a mega clash between Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Varisu is set to happen for the Pongal festival of 2023, as both the filmmakers are locking the same date.
However, a few trade pundits are of the opinion that both the films may not release on the same date and instead, they will be taking turns and picking a day each in succession.
Sources say that Ajith’s Thunivu is likely to release first on the 12th of January, and will be followed by Varisu on the 13th of January. Both the films are almost done with their final shoot schedules and will be moving into the post-production stage in full swing now.
Interesting is that, both Ajith fans and Vijay fans are very excited about the news as both the Titans of Kollywood are set to face at the box office after almost 8 years. The last such face-off happened in 2014 Pongal when Ajith’s Veeram and Vijay’s Jilla released. The end result was in favour of Ajith as Veeram performed better at the box office than Jilla. Other than fans, even movie buffs are excited to watch who is going to win between the two at the Pongal box office race.
