Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the ‘Rozgar Mela’ for unemployed people. Rozgar Mela is a recruitment drive for providing employment to 10 lakh people. Modi called it an “important milestone” for India.

Under this employment drive, the government is expected to distribute appointment letters to almost 75,000 newly inducted appointees. The step has been taken to increase job opportunities for youth and ensure welfare of the citizens.

During this launch, Modi addressed all the people via video-conferencing and laid emphasis on making India more self-reliant and taking forward the government’s ‘Make in India’ mission.

Modi in this ceremony said, “India today is the 5th largest economy in the world. In the last 8 years, we have jumped to the 5th position from 10th position. It’s true that many big economies of the world are struggling with inflation, unemployment and side effects of the biggest crisis in 100 years can’t just go away in 100 days”.

“The employment drive is an important milestone in the government’s efforts for employment, self-employment in the last 8 years. Today our mission is Make in India. We have become a global hub in many sectors where earlier we were import dependent. When India breaks all export records, it is a testimony to generation of employment”, he added.
