Shardul Thakur is one of the popular players in Indian cricket. He became popular with his impeccable bowling skills and handy batting abilities. He carved a niche for himself on an international level. He has been phenomenal in IPL too.
But we now hear that Delhi Capitals is planning to leave him ahead of the next season. The IPL governing council gave time until November 15th for the franchises to make trade-in deals with various players. Thakur was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 10.75 crores.
However, his performance in this year’s IPL was not up to the mark. He bagged 15 wickets in 14 games. On the batting front, he scored only 120 runs. He didn’t create an impact in any match. Though he failed for the Capitals, Thakur had been sensational with both bat and ball for his previous franchise Chennai Super Kings.
Along with Thakur, Delhi Capitals may also release wicketkeeper Srikar Bharat and batter Mandeep Singh ahead of the mini-auction. We have to see which team will buy these players. Meanwhile, we hear that the mini-auction will take place on December 16. The next edition of IPL may start by the end of March and will continue till the last week of May or the first week of June.
