Allu Sirish’s Urvasivo Rakshashivo has finally hit the screens today on November 4th. Anu Emmanuel plays the female lead, opposite Sirish, in this urban romantic entertainer. Directed by Rakesh Sashi, let us how the film is…

Storyline:

A middle class introvert guy Sri Kumar (Allu Sirish) falls in love with a modern and extrovert girl Sindhuja (Anu Emmanuel) who works in the same office. Sindhuja also accepts his love and moves close to him. But the actual problem starts when Sri realizes Sindhuja has no value to relationships. What happens next forms the crux.

What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:

Major asset of the film is its humorous and romantic content. Even though the film has a routine premise and predictable storyline, the way the proceedings have been narrated makes things entertaining. Despite the normal storyline the director has ensured that there is ample dose of entertainment in the film. In the second half, there is a sense of repetitiveness, and things drag as we get towards the end. Even though the climax is good, it feels like it has ended in a hurry. Also films setup and content might keep the family crowds totally away. The director, who did a good job in the first half , lost the plot towards the second half. Also the climax fizzles out poorly.

Urvasivo Rakshasivo Movie Review

Performance of Cast & Crew:

Allu Sirish’s acting is decent. He has cleverly played to his strengths as an innocent guy and goes with the mood of the film which is quite good. Once again, Anu Immanuel gets a meaty role and impresses big time. Her modern look and urban characterisation works pretty well and is one of the highlights. Vennela Kishore rocks as usual. After a long gap, Sunil gets a hilarious role and all his scenes with him are laugh evoking. Editing is average. There are a few disjointed sequences in the movie. Production values by Geetha Arts are the best and they have not shied away from making this film look rich. Music is average, while BGM is quite pleasing and goes with the mood of the film. Dialogues written will connect to the youth. Coming to the director, he has done a average job with the film.

First Half & Second Half:

The first half of the film is breezy and the satires on girls and boys and love will connect big time with youth. The first half of the film proceeds at a leisure pace with romantic moments and Venella Kishore’s decent comedy. Scenes with the hero and heroine have come out well. However, the pace of the film slightly slows down in the second half. But what saves the film here is comedy. A better direction in the second half would have really elevated this movie to a whole new level.

Impressive:

Comedy Track
First Half

Unimpressive:

Predictable plot
Second Half

The IBC News take on Movie:

On the whole, in the film, there is a lot of tenderness in the first half and youngsters will connect to it well. Also comedy works well. But it’s the poor emotions and second half that makes the film just an average watch. At the Box Office, the film’s appeal may be limited to the youth.
