It is England who emerged as the winner of the T20 World Cup 2022. It was one of the favourites of the tournament and living up to the expectations, Jos Buttler and his men went on to clinch the trophy by winning against Pakistan in the final by five wickets.

This is England’s second T20 World Cup win. The last time they won the trophy was in 2010 under Paul Collingwood’s captaincy. By winning the 2019 World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup, England proved to be the new king of white-ball cricket.

In this world cup, England played its first match against Afghanistan and won by five wickets. It lost the second match against Ireland by the DLS method. The third match against Australia was abandoned due to rain. By winning against New Zealand and Sri Lanka in the last two games, England qualified for the semis.

In the semifinal, England thrashed India and won the game by 10 wickets. This massive win boosted the confidence of the English players. With that confidence, they entered the finals. By winning the toss, England won half of the match.

Bowlers Adil Rashid and Sam Curran’s spectacular spells helped England in restricting Pakistan to a score of 137/8 in 20 overs. On the batting front, it was Ben Stokes, who remained till the end and gave a victory for his team. After making his team win the 2019 World Cup final, Stokes gave another phenomenal performance in this final.

By helping England win two World Cups, Ben Stokes proved to be the most valuable player for English cricket right now.
