Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra, which started on September 7, was completed with Maharashtra and entered the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh yesterday. Gandhi along with his supporters will start the march from Borgaon in Khandwa and will visit the birthplace of Tantia Bhil – The India Robinhood, a freedom fighter and tribal icon.
It looks like BJP is ready to counter Gandhi as it launched the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Yatra’ from the same place yesterday. It was attended by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and 4 ministers. While addressing this, the leaders denied the allegation of a counter-attack on Rahul. “Unlike Congress, we don’t embark on yatra only ahead of elections. Our rally was planned well in advance,” said Ram Dangore, a BJP MLA from Pandhana.
Speaking about the politics of the state MP, Gandhi accused BJP of buying out honesty with their corruption. “We won the election in Madhya Pradesh. But they paid crores to 20-25 corrupt MLAs and bought them. All democratic avenues are shut. All the institutions — the RSS/BJP have cornered them, filled them with their own men” he said in Burhanpur.
