Actor Ajay Devgn was on a rough patch for the last couple of years. None of his films was able to do well at the box office. Finally, he scored a big hit with his new film Drishyam 2. This was not only an important success for him but for the entire Bollywood.
Drishyam 2 was released on November 18 and garnered positive talk right from the first day. Due to unanimous positive word of mouth, the film started collecting big at the ticket counters. On day seven, it joined the 100-crore club. The earnings were better on the eighth and ninth days as well, due to the weekend.
According to the trade reports, Drishyam 2 earned around Rs. 15 crores on the ninth day as well with an overall occupancy of 41.10 per cent. With this, it now collected a total of Rs. 127.53 crores nett in its nine-day run. There are high chances of it doing well today too as it is a Sunday.
Drishyam 2 has now surpassed the opening week collections of films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Gangubai Kathiawadi and The Kashmir Files. By the end of its theatrical run, it may end up as one of the biggest hits of Bollywood in 2022.
