Former Member of Parliament from Kannauj and a party remember of Samajwadi Party, Dimple Yadav claimed that BJP members are distributing liquor, money purview of Mainpuri Bypolls of the assembly, that are taking place today.
Taking to Twitter she claimed that “Hundreds of BJP leaders and workers have gathered at Hotel Palm, Station Road, Mainpuri and are continuously distributing liquor and money. Election Commission should take cognisance of the matter”.
The party’s delegation shall meet the Election Commission tonight with a complaint, and the party MLAs are likely to sit on a dharna against what they called the BJP’s illegal activity 24 hours before voting begins. The Mainpuri by-polls are taking place with the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. The voting will be held in two assembly seats in UP – Rampur Sadar and Khatauli.
There is also an alliance reported between BJP and the Samajwadi Party-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the by-polls to the Rampur Sadar and Khatauli assembly seats and the Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency. The Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress are not contesting.
