Telangana: Demanding the abolishment of the Governor system, CPI State Secretariat member Takkallapalli Srinivas Rao has called for the ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan programme’ in November. The party addressed the media on Tuesday, stating that there was no record or evidence depicting the efficient work of the Governor’s system in protecting democratic values in the country.
Following this, a huge rally was conducted towards Raj Bhavan today, and the crowd was gathering in larger numbers. On noticing this, the police forces has taken the charge and arrested the CPI leaders. Currently, they are being detained by the police near Khairtabad. The CPI leaders had called for a blockade of the Raj Bhavan demanding the scrapping of the governor’s system in the country. On this occasion, the party cadres gathered in large numbers to lay siege to the Raj Bhavan. The police forces were already on alert and the party leaders are being detained everywhere. While some of them made it to Raj Bhavan, most of them are being intercepted earlier and taken into detention.
CPI has been angst about the Governor system for the past couple of months actively. They have conducted several meetings across Telangana gathering & informing the crowd about how the Governor system has been attacking the democratic values of the public.
