Jim Cameron’s second instalment in the ‘Avatar’ franchise has finally been released and it looks like the world is pretty much caught around this film only this weekend. After having a global release and mixed reception, the film is recording a stunning number and shows all over.
It was also predicted that the film shall be making a significant number in Telugu states too and it looks like it did. It is reported that the film scored ₹13.50 CR on Day 1, and over ₹10 CR on Days 2 & 3. The film recorded an approximate figure of ₹35 CR Gross on the weekend. While on the international market, the film opened to a whopping $434 Million. It collected over $134 Million on its opening weekend in the U.S.A. Surprisingly, it is significantly less than what they estimated.
However, “Avatar 2” earned over ₹110 CR (over $18 million) in just three days in India. There aren’t many original releases from Telugu and the only film that had a long haul, ‘HIT: The Second Case’ reached its end of the run.
