RRR at Oscars: Naatu Naatu makes a grand entry to the shortlist of Best Original Song

rrr Naatu Naatu

RRR has already been the most talked about film in Hollywood. Yesterday a shortlist was announced for The Oscars and the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has made its place in that list, in the category of ‘Best Original Song’. Composed by M. M. Keeravani the song’s choreography too has mesmerised the audience, especially the hook step.

This hype from Hollywood is entirely unexpected for the team too. Upon its release, the Western audience went bonkers about the film and expressed their love towards it all over social media. There have been multiple fan versions, with the western audience dancing for ‘Naatu Naatu’ in the theatres, before the screen itself. Such was the madness of the film. Although the film wasn’t the official entry from India, the team made the individual submission to the academy and it actually paid off! Along with ‘Naatu Naatu’, songs by The Weekend, Taylor Swift along with other major film scores were in the competition.

It is wondrous news not only to the team but also for the whole country as this marks the first entry in the category for India. Hope it gains the glory!
