The founder of the World’s biggest Cricket league IPL (Indian Premier League) Lalit Modi has rocked all the social media platforms on Thursday, by officially announcing that he is dating former Miss Universe and B-town actress Sushmita Sen. The 58-year former cricket administrator and businessman, who is single after getting separated from his ex-wife Minal Modi in 2018, has been dating Sushmita from a while. They both went on a tour to Maldives and Sardinia and a couple of romantic photos shared by Modi says more about their relationship.
His tweet is inundated with several memes and netizens have mixed reactions to his post – they also pulled out an old tweet by Lalit Modi asking Sushmita to reply to his SMS in 2013, during the initial days of IPL. Dropping a follow up tweet, he added ‘Just for clarity. Not married – just dating each other. That too it will happen one day.’
After first few seasons of IPL, Lalit Modi was suspended by BCCI for following some irregular processes and it was all doomed for him later. Sushmita Sen, who was in a relationship with fashion model Rohman Shawl from 2018 until 2021, has two adopted kids. The 47-year old Sen is suffering from Addison’s disease, which require her to take steroid drugs for lifelong to manage the illness.
