Finally, West Indies managed to get a victory in its home series against India. After losing the ODI series by 3-0, West Indies also lost the first T20I. However, the Caribbeans came back stronger in the second T20I and won it by 5 wickets.
After winning the toss, West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran chose to bowl first. Obed McCoy gave a stunning start by getting the wicket of Rohit Sharma right on the first ball of the innings. He continued his fierce bowling throughout the innings and claimed six wickets in total (6/17). As a result, India never really was in a hunt for the big total. Eventually, it got all-out for mere 138 runs in 19.4 overs. Hardik Pandya (31) remained the top scorer for team India.
West Indies was dominant throughout the chase. As the target was less, the batters never took any risk. Opener Brandon King (68) anchored the chase and helped his team in scoring 141/5 in 19.2 overs. Devon Thomas played a handy yet crucial knock (31* off 19 balls) as well. With this win, the Windies levelled the series by 1-1. The final and the third ODI will be held tonight.
