Noida’s supertech twin towers that are taller than the Qutub Minar razed to the ground at 2:30 pm today. The entire event was telecasted live on television.
The towers are being demolished nine years after residents went to court alleging violation of norms. Reportedly, to destroy them, 3,700 kilograms of explosives were used.
For the unversed, this demolition of twin towers was ordered by the Supreme Court after the court found their construction on the Emerald Court society premises in violation of norms
So, these buildings were demolished by the company itself at its own expense under the guidance of the Noida Authority.
Meanwhile, it is confirmed that almost five thousand Emerald Court and ATS Village residents who are near the Supertech Twin Towers were evacuated ahead of the demolition set to take place at 2:30 pm today. Dogs are also rescued from the premises. Also, the residents are provided with temporary shelter at the Parsvnath Prestige Residential Complex in Sector 93.
