Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai earlier today in Bengaluru. Upon his visit, Vijayan was felicitated by Bommai. Even though both of them represent different parties of different ideologies, Basavaraj showed a humane gesture by keeping political ideologies aside and felicitating Pinarayi Vijayan.
This is Vijayan’s first visit to Karnataka after a gap of five long years. He met Bommai to hold primary discussions over the proposal to extend the Silverline project to Karnataka. He had put forward a suggestion to extend the semi high speed rail to Karnataka at the southern zonal council at Kovalam.
The discussions are also held over the launch of the Thalassery- Mysuru and Nilambur- Nanjangud rail routes.
This afternoon, Pinarayi will travel to inaugurate the CPM conference and participate in a rally at 12 pm in Bagepalli. This will be his first public rally on the soil of Karnataka. Bagepalli is located 100 km north of Bengaluru, in the district of Chikballapur. It is heard that ore than 10,000 people will join this rally, including IT professionals from Bengaluru. It looks like CPM is planning to expand its wings in Karnataka by the time of the next elections.
