Team India might have won the T20I series against South Africa pretty easily but it started off the ODI series on a disappointing note. India lost the first ODI due to poor performance from the top-order batters. They are now looking forward to winning the second match tonight which will be held in Ranchi. On the other side, South Africa is aiming to seal the series by 2-0 by winning this match.
India got a major setback as Deepak Chahar is ruled out of the series due to back pain. He is replaced by Washington Sundar. He may replace Ravi Bishnoi in the playing XI due to his all-round abilities. Avesh Khan may come in the place of Chahar. It is high time for top-order batters Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad to step up and play to their best abilities.
On the flip side, South Africa lost Dwaine Pretorius due to a thumb injury. He didn’t play the first game but the proteas are now short of options. Marco Jansen may replace Tabriaz Shamsi who had an expensive spell in the last game. Apart from that, South Africa may continue to play the same playing XI.
