The fears of growing Covid-19 cases are back in India and more than 17,073 cases are registered in India int last 24 hours. Throughout the nation, there was a 45% jump in Covid cases and the numbers are causing allaying fears among common people. On Sunday, India registered 11,739 cases and 21 people were reported to have died.
According to the Health Ministry, India has lost 5,25,020 people to Covid so far and currently there are 94,420 active cases and 15,208 have been recovered. While the daily positivity rate has jumped to 5.62%, the weekly positivity rate stands at 3.39%. Mumbai City is seeing the biggest rise in Covid numbers and 5 patients have lost their lives. Also, the number of hospitalizations are on surging in Delhi and positivity rate is increasing in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
In view of growing cases, people are rushing to get a booster dose in large numbers. Until Monday morning, India has exceeded 197.11 Cr vaccinations.
