In connection with the scam of Teachers recruitment, the Enforcement Directorate has arrested Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee. Chatterjee’s arrest has been confirmed after a prolonged interrogation for over 26 hours, that began on 22nd morning.
Talking about the interrogation, an ED official said, “He was not cooperating with our officers who were questioning him since Friday morning. He will be produced before a court during the day,”.
With this Parthe Chatterjee, the Trinamool minister has been taken to the Salt Lake’s CGO complex in north-eastern Kolkata, where the ED office is located.
As per the reports, Chatterjee will be produced in the court today, 23rd July.
Along with Parthe Chatterjee, a close aide of his, Arpita Mukherjee has also been detained. Also Rs 20 crore has been recovered by EC as unaccounted cash from Mukherjee’s home in south Kolkata a day back.
For the unversed, Parthe Chatterjee was the state education minister, while this teachers recruitment scam took place. So ED is probing the money laundering aspect of those allegedly involved in this recruitment scam.
