Surge in COVID cases; Delhi registers highest deaths

Most of us might have overcome the Covid scare but the fact is that the Corona Virus pandemic has not come to an end yet. The fourth wave might soon hit us and the governments of different states are preparing themselves for the same. In the middle of the same, we have the news from the Nation’s capital Delhi that the cases are surging.

In the view of the rise in the COVID cases, the Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Tuesday said the pandemic is far from over. The Lieutenant Governot also appealed to people to adhere to Covid-appropriate behavior.

“We are witnessing a rise in Covid-19 infections, consistently high positivity, and cases of reinfection. It is essential that we realize that the pandemic is far from over. I appeal to all to strictly adhere to Covid Appropriate Behaviour. We cannot afford to let our guards down,” Delhi’s Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena tweeted.

Despite the citizens taking the necessary vaccine doses along with a precautionary dose, the cases are still rising. Delhi city witnessed more than 2,000 cases for 12 consecutive days.

Surprisingly, on Friday, Delhi saw 10 deaths, the highest in six months, and 2,136 cases with a positivity rate of 15.02 per cent.
