Vinayaka Chaturthi is round the corner. Like every year, the Telangana state is getting ready for the celebration of Ganesh festival this year as well. The Ganesh Utsav Committees of many regions are actively making arrangements to welcome Lord Ganesh. Amidst this, the discussion started around the Khairatabad Ganesh Idol this year.
According to the latest sources, Hyderabad’s tallest Khairthabad Ganesh idol will be installed at a whopping cost of Rs one crore this year. With the passing of every year, the awareness of using eco-friendly Ganesh is growing. Hence, the people have decided to use eco-friendly Ganesh this year.
The plans are underway to make the idol stand out as the year’s tallest idol in the country while also being eco-friendly as it is being moulded out of clay.
Already, 150 artists are working on this idol. The paint colours have also started coming from five different states while artists from Chennai have arrived in the city to do clay work.
In the year 1954, Shakeriah Ji started installed the Ganesh idol in Khairthabad. Ever since, the committee decided to increase the height of the idol by one foot every year.
In 2015, the committee decided to decrease the height but then, they came to a conclusion that height alone brings a lot of uniqueness to the Khairatabad Ganesh and then decided to increase the height.
