The much-awaited Asia Cup 2022 is all set to begin today. It has been one of the popular multi-team tournaments in the cricketing arena for many years. This time, the tournament will be held in the T20 format, to prep up players for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
A total of six teams will be participating in this edition. These teams are divided into two groups. Group A features India, Pakistan and Hong Kong. Group B features Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Each team will play one match against the other two teams in the group.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 4 stage. The top two teams from the Super 4 stage will advance to the final, which will be held on September 11. Dubai and Sharjah will be hosting all games of the tournament. The first match will be held tonight between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Dubai International Stadium will host the game. It starts at 07.30 PM IST.
