As per the report released by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) on Sunday, it is revealed that crime rate in Telangana increased drastically in the year 2021 as compared to the year 2020.
The number of crimes recorded are 1.45 lakh cases in the year 2021 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which is an increase of more than 10,000 compared to the previous year 2020.
But the best thing is that almost 80 percent of the cases have been investigated properly by the police, and charge sheets were filed in courts.
Getting deep into the report, 4,365 cases of assault on women were reported and atleast 823 rape cases were registered in the state in 2021. Also, cyber crime in the state has increased by 200 percent. The state also ranked first in human trafficking. The state also ranked high in farmer suicides.
Meanwhile, 7,971 theft cases were reported and a total of 17,951 cases were registered under the IPC during the year under review, the report said.
