Vijayawada to get a direct flight to Sharjah

Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is focusing on the development of the tourism sector in the state. As a part of it, he is holding a meeting with Tourism Minister Roja and a few other officials today at his camp office.

Meanwhile, he is also announcing good news for the international travels of AP. International flights are set to begin in a full-fledged way from the Vijayawada (Gannavaram) International Airport soon. During the pandemic, a few international flights were operated from this Airport as a part of the Vande Bharat mission.

Now, Gannavaram Airport will operate a direct flight to Sharjah in the UAE. Air India Express will run the flight. From October 31st, a direct flight between Vijayawada and Sharjah will be operated every Monday and Saturday. A Boeing 737-800 flight of 186 passengers capacity will depart from Sharjah at 01:40 PM and reaches Vijayawada at 05:35 PM. It returns to Sharjah from Vijayawada at 06:35 PM and reaches its destination by 10:35 PM. The ticket rates start at Rs.15,069. This flight will increase the inflow of international passengers at the airport.
