After failing to create magic with Krish’s Konda Polam, Vaishnav Tej is back to his love genre and is all set with his recent film “Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga”. Released amidst decent buzz, let us see how the movie is..
Storyline:
The story revolves around neighbours and childhood classmates Rishi( Vaisshnav Tej) and Radha( Ketika Sharma). However they don’t like each other and are often seen quarreling for silly reasons. Later, they both joined the same Medical college. On the other hand, Radha’s brother( Naveen Chandra) is a person with political interest. How opposite poles, Rishi and Radha attract each other? What is the conflict point interlinked with both of their families? What will Rishi and Radha do to make their families happy forms the crux.
What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:
First half entertains us here and there. Also the family scenes that come in the first half could connect to the family Audience. The plot of “Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga” is simple and routine. Predictability is written all over it. There is nothing wrong in choosing any ‘same old story’, but all that matters is how to hook the audience in the best way possible. Director doesn’t even try to project it differently. All he does is tell the same scenes and the oft-repeated story with a dash of entertainment. The manner in which love develops between the lead pair is not shown in a proper way. More scenes should have been kept to establish this thread and the depth in writing would have helped this rom-com even more.
Performance of Cast & Crew:
The chemistry between the lead pair is impressive. Vaisshnav Tej and Kethika both impressed with their good acting capabilities. Naveen Chandra and Subbaraju performed well as usual.
Music by Devi is good and so was his BGM. Dialogues are neat. Editing in the first half is crisp but in the second half it could have been a lot better. The production values of the film are pretty good.
First Half & Second Half:
First half succeeds in the comedy part. There is enough fun in the first half. The film works well in some family moments that come in the first half. The interval bang is Ok. But the second half looks edited in a patchy manner. Also this half tests our patience to the core. Many scenes give a rushed feel. Unfortunately, even the climax is routine and not better handled. Due to this reason, the film turns out to be mediocre.
Impressive:
Hero and Heroine Performance
First Half
Unimpressive:
Routine Story
Second Half
‘The IBC News’ take on movie:
On the whole, Ranga Ranga Viabhavamga has nothing but the DSP’s music lead pair’s face-off, and a bit entertaining first half. Second half totally tests your patience and makes you feel like you are watching the film for the Nth time.
