Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced new persons into the PM Cares Fund. The latest one to be included in the list is Ratan Tata. Modi has appreciated everyone who has contributed to the fund and also mentioned that it is essential to respond to emergency and distress situations. A new meeting of the Board of Trustees was chaired today.
According to PM Modi, it was discussed that PM CARES has a larger vision of effectively responding to emergency and distress situations. New trustees were also welcomed to the board, and they will now be an integral part of the PM CARES Fund.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were also present at the meeting. Along with Ratan Tata, more prominent personalities also joined the board.
Justice K T Thomas, former Supreme Court judge, and former Deputy Speaker Kariya Munda also attended the meeting.
Rajiv Mehrishi, former Comptroller and Auditor General of India; Sudha Murty, former Chairperson, Infosys Foundation; Anand Shah, Co-founder of Teach for India and former CEO of Indicorps and Piramal Foundation were nominated for the constitution of Advisory Board to PM CARES Fund.
