IndvsAus match tickets: Police case booked on Azharuddin and HCA

Azharuddin gymkhana ground tickets issue

After the stampede at Gymkhana grounds for the tickets of India vs Australia cricket match on this Sunday, fans are quite disappointed with the way Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) organized ticket-selling.

Making HCA and President Mohd Azharuddin responsible for the stampede and lathi charge at Gymkhana Grounds, cricket fans lodged a complaint at Begumpet Police Station alleging that management sold tickets in black. Police officials booked 3 cases on Hyderabad Cricket Association members. The ticket contractor of HCA failed to offer full facilities and adequate counters. Also, organisers could not co-ordinate well with police. The issue has been ordered for enquiry.

To control a large number of fans who thronged for tickets, police had to lathi charge and it led to a stampede. Around 20 people are injured and most of them were immediately taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. The injured include women fans as well.
