Now, the capital of Karnataka has flooded once again due to heavy rain. On Wednesday evening, Bengaluru witnessed nonstop rainfall which resulted in flooding several arterial roads in the east, south and central part of the city.
Even the IT corridor of Bellandur was flooded completely. According to the Meteorological Department, 59 mm of rainfall was recorded in Rajamahal Guttahalli, which is located in the northern part of the city. The department issued a yellow alert indicating that heavy rains are predicted for the next three days.
Rains in the evening time resulted in a heavy traffic jam. The roads in the low-lying areas are waterlogged. The pictures of water flowing out of open manholes and flooding cellars and damaging vehicles are now going viral all over social media.
The heavy rain also led to the collapse of a wall near Majestic. Several vehicles parked beside the wall were damaged due to this incident. This is the highest amount of rainfall Bengaluru received in the recent past. It witnessed 1706 mm of rainfall this year.
