During a press meet held on Sunday at Baramati, Central Minister & NCP president, Sharad Pawar said he will be joining Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ when it reaches Maharashtra. He said he shall be joining as an appreciation & support to the cause of the event
Pawar said that Congress state leaders Ashok Chavan & Balasaheb Thorat have met & invited him to join the yatra and he shall join it on November 7th. ”The yatra is a Congress party programme. But through this initiative, an attempt is being made to bring harmony in the society. So some of us from different parties will join the yatra wherever possible when it is in the state,” said Pawar. He also commented about BCCI elections, saying that politics should stay out of sports and Their job is to provide facilities to players.
‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, led by Rahul Gandhi, has so far covered four states – Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is currently happening in Telangana and reaches Mumbai on November 7th. It is said that the Yatra will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir.
