Big Move: BCCI to implement pay equity policy for Men & Women cricketers

Pay equality is something that all of us, collectively discuss about. There is a demand that male and female Indian cricketers should be paid equally. However, as part of the new era into the sports, BCCI has taken a big decision to give equal pay to both male and female cricketers.

In a landmark decision, BCCI announced that the cricketers will get a equal pay. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has taken to Twitter to confirm the same.

“I’m pleased to announce @BCCI’s first step towards tackling discrimination. We are implementing pay equity policy for our contracted @BCCIWomen cricketers. The match fee for both Men and Women Cricketers will be same as we move into a new era of gender equality in 🇮🇳 Cricket. The @BCCIWomen cricketers will be paid the same match fee as their male counterparts. Test (INR 15 lakhs), ODI (INR 6 lakhs), T20I (INR 3 lakhs). Pay equity was my commitment to our women cricketers and I thank the Apex Council for their support. Jai Hind” tweeted Jay Shah.

Many former Indian cricketers and other celebrities have appreciated this move of BCCI and it is definitely going to be game changer in the field of sports, especially in cricket in India.
