With the ongoing G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, many renowned & wealthy countries heads across the globe are meeting up to discuss the terms & expansion of the Political economies of the underdeveloped post-pandemic. Yesterday, the PM of India, Modi was seen with the Presidents of other countries at the summit.
Within a day of this summit, a new announcement was made from the office of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
“Today the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme was confirmed, offering 3,000 places to 18–30 year-old degree educated Indian nationals to come to the UK to live and work for up to two years.” read the tweet on the official handle.
Last year this scheme was announced as the part of ‘UK – India Migration & Mobility Partnership’ and was confirmed by Rishi Sunak today! It is to be observed that the announcement happened within a day of the meeting between Modi – Sunak.
Although the scheme received immediate criticism for over-allocating it to the non-Brits, this shall act as a massive boost for the NRIs.
According to the UK home office data, as of June 2022, around 118,000 Indians were granted a student visa, citing an 89% increase in approvals.
