Team India’s horrendous form in the ODI series continues. After losing 1-0 against New Zealand just a couple of days ago, India has now lost an ODI series against Bangladesh. The hosts won two games in a row and sealed the series by 2-0 with one match left. Though India’s captain Rohit Sharma tried his best till the last ball, he couldn’t take his team to the victory shores. Thus, India lost by 5 runs.
Once again, Indian top-order failed to put an effort. Virat Kohli replaced injured Rohit as an opener. But he failed to create an impact. The same is the case with Shikhar Dhawan. Shreyas Iyer (82) and Axar Patel (56) brought back India to the game while chasing a target of 272. Once they departed, things crumbled down once again. Rohit (51*) came into bat at ninth position. He scored a half-century in 27 balls. India needed 6 runs off the last ball but Rohit couldn’t hit it. Ebadot Hossain (3/45) got three wickets. Mehidy Hasan (2/46) and Shakib Al Hasan (2/39) took two wickets each.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s batter Mehidy Hasan Miraz (100*) has delivered a phenomenal performance. His scintillating century helped Bangladesh recover from a score of 69/6 to making 271/7. He got a good support from Mahmudullah (77). Washington Sundar (3/37) grabbed three wickets. Mohammed Siraj (2/73) and Umran Malik (2/58) took two wickets each. The final and nominal ODI will be held on December 10.
