KGF Chapter: 2 is the much-awaited sequel of the 2018 blockbuster KGF Chapter: 1. It is a continuation of the first part and starts off exactly at the point where the former part had ended.

Plot:

After killing Garuda, Rocky (Yash) takes over Kolar Gold Fields. He becomes a messiah for the people in KGF. However, the other people who are trying for the power over KGF are not happy with Rocky taking the charge. One of them is Garuda’s brother Adheera (Sanjay Dutt). On the flip side, Prime Minister Ramika Sen orders an ultimatum to kill Rocky. How Rocky dealt with these two opponents forms the major crux of the story.

What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:

KGF 2 has all ingredients that the audience expects from the franchise. Right from the word go, director Prashanth Neel gives us an adrenaline ride filled with elevation scenes. The film never loses its graph and maintains all highs and lows equally.

Some viewers may feel bored as the story progresses at a snail’s pace in the first half. It is filled with elevation sequences and the story doesn’t really progress forward until the latter half of the film.

Performance of Cast & Crew

Yash has been exceptional in the role of Rocky as he was in the first part. He carried the character with utmost ease. His towering personality and angry-young man charisma are the major highlights of the movie. Srinidhi Shetty got a role of no importance in the first part but her role was etched well in this part. She did a good job too. Sanjay Dutt was menacing in the role of Adheera but his character was not written to its complete potential. Raveena Tandon was excellent in her role. This will be one of her best performances. Rao Ramesh made his presence felt.

The production values of the movie were excellent. The VFX work has been great. Prashanth Neel should be appreciated for coming up with such a quality output in the given budget of Rs. 100 crores. Music by Ravi Basrur is the backbone of the film. Bhuvan Gowda’s cinematography is top-notch. Prajwal’s editing is good but could have been better in a few scenes.

First Half & Second Half:

The first half of KGF 2 is filled with elevation scenes. The story doesn’t really progress in this half. However, it is entertaining though.

The second half picks up on a high note and the graph doesn’t go down till the end. All the tracks get a justifying ending in the climax. The last scene definitely raises expectations for the third part.

Impressive:

Yash
Elevation sequences
Background score
Impressive storytelling

Unimpressive:

The first half could have been a bit short on length

‘The IBC News’ take on KGF 2:

KGF 2 is a perfect sequel to its first part. It is high on emotions, action and all the other commercial elements. Though the pace becomes an issue in the first half, it never bothers us in the second half. On the whole, a perfect paisa vasool film from Prashanth Neel.

One-Line Review:

KGF is an action-packed commercial entertainer
