Starring Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is a commercial entertainer with a social message backing it up. The film’s review is here.
Plot:
With some unfortunate incidents that happened in his childhood because of debts, Mahi (Mahesh Babu) gets settled in the states by starting a finance corporation. There he meets Kalaavathi (Keerthy Suresh) and falls in love with her. Kalaavathi cheats on Mahi for money and finally gets caught by him. Mahi reaches Rajendranath (Samuthirakani), who is the father of Kalaavathi, to collect his debt. Surprisingly, he gets to know that Rajendranath is also involved in a 10 thousand crores scam. How Mahi’s life is related to that scam, and how the fight between Rajendranath and Mahi goes on forms the crux.
What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:
Few scenes that come between the lead pair create good comedy. The messaging of bank loan scams works as it is not sewn very seriously into the narrative and works as a supplement.
However, story-wise, there is nothing novel that is showcased. It is a typical commercial hero movie where things happen according to the hero’s character elevation and convenience. Though it’s entertaining in the first half, the lead pair track along with Subbaraju looks forced in the second half.
Performance of Cast & Crew:
Super Star Mahesh Babu steals the show as usual with his screen presence and energetic performance. He carried this regular commercial drama with his impressive comedy timing and flexible dialogue delivery.
Keerthy Suresh got a meaty role and is hot in terms of looks. She has been a big asset for the first-half proceedings.
Samuthirakani is apt in his role as a corrupt politician. Vennela Kishore rocks the comedy scenes as usual in the first half. Actress Nadiya and Naga Babu gave their best in the limited roles.
Parasuram’s writing is the core strength of the film. Right from the plot to the screenplay, Parasuram scores top class in every aspect of the film with his writing. Thaman gave good music. Choreographer Sekhar also needs a special mention as he understood the body language of Mahesh and well composed the dance moves for him.
First Half & Second Half:
The love track between the lead pair in the first half has enjoyable moments for fans. However, the entire first half proceedings run on a flat note and have nothing much to offer the main story.
The story progression is almost negligible initially and one may feel stuck with a bad plot that seems to be going nowhere. Only in Pre-interval does, the hero finds his purpose. The movie reserves all the thrills for the second half. So you will have to be patient going in.
Coming to the second half, it becomes Interesting for most of the time but lags when it finally reaches the climax. The last twenty minutes were very predictable and had nothing to engage the audience.
Impressive:
Mahesh acting
Keerthy Suresh Looks
Comedy
Music
Unimpressive:
Few Scenes In First -Half
Climax
‘The IBC News’ take on Sarkaru Vaari Paata:
