The IBC News Rating

Adivi Sesh scored back-to-back hits in recent times. With the film Major, he upped his game in Tollywood. The film’s trailer impressed everyone and also gained a positive pre-release buzz. Interestingly, the film was released at the Pan-India level and gave Sesh a new image at the box office. Major released on June 3rd and has become a big hit. Check out the film’s review here.

Plot:

Major is the biopic of Major Sundeep Unnikrishnan. The film traces the life of Maj. Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who fought against terrorists and was killed in action during the 2008 attacks at the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai, India and lost his life. Sesh played the titular role in the film. The film not only throws light into the personal life of Sundeep Unnikrishnan but also his life as a soldier.

What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:

There are multiple entertaining as well as boring elements in the film. However, the entertaining elements dominated the boring elements. The second half is thoroughly gripping and holds the film well. The songs are decent and Sesh’s performance is a delight to watch. Apart from that, the war sequences are picturized nicely. The boring part is some of the scenes from the personal life of Sesh and the unrealistic parts of the film.

Performance of Cast & Crew:

The film features a limited cast but everyone did a great job in the film. Adivi Sesh convinces everyone as Unnikrishnan. Prakash Raj and Revathy are phenomenal as his parents. The combination scenes between the three are a treat to watch. Saiee Manjrekar looks cute and has delivered a fine performance. And then, there is Sobhitha who added strength to the casting department.

Anish Kuruvilla, Murali Sharma, and others did their job well. Sasi Kiran Tikka delivered a big hit Goodachari and he is back with a solid success now with this film Major. The film is technically very strong. The artwork and the action choreography is excellent. The camera work is good and the editing is nice. The production values are lavish.

Major Review

First Half & Second Half:

The first half of the film is pretty average and could have been much more gripping and entertaining but the film never picked the pace. However, the interval bang is impressive. The second half of the movie is extremely good. Whatever is missing in the first half is on point in the second half and it takes the film altogether to a different level.

‘The IBC News’ Take on Major:

Major is one of those films that move you totally. The film is emotionally filled and will give you a best viewing experience altogether. Adivi Sesh is at his career’s best and he carried the film on his shoulders. It is his one-man show, supported by all others in coming up with a solid entertainer in hand.

One-Line Review:

Major is highly inspiring and moving.
