India finally got its 15th president today as the counting of votes was finished for the presidential elections. The strong competition went on between BJP led NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu and the Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha.
However, Draupadi Murmu, the nominee of the BJP party, went high on voting and got elected to occupy the top constitutional post in the country. Interesting thing is that she is the first tribal President of India and the second female president of India. Top of all, while there are 3219 valid votes, Murmu got 2161 votes and defeated Yashwant Sinha who got 1058 votes.
Meanwhile, the local BJP party is celebrating her victory in a grand way after the results are announced.
